TBH, i'm not sure i buy ^^^^^this one??

Tractor units weigh something between 7 and 9 tonnes, trailers about 4. Are you telling me the crane just lifted a container weighing something like twice what it should do without warning the driver/control system? Seems a bit unlikely to me.............
A 40' shipping container can weigh up to 40 Tonnes so easily possible that he didn't notice the extra weight.
Not seeing a truck dangling form the rig is another thing...
It shouldn't weigh 40 tonnes, else the whole rig will be over the 44 tonne limit. 33 tonnes is about as much as I'd expect them to weight, add to that the 4 tonnes of the trailer and the 7 tonnes of the tractor and you're at 44 tonnes gross.
Lifting the tractor and trailer as well as the container would mean the overall weight could potentially be 30% in excess of normal, unless of course the container isn't loaded with anything particularly heavy, which is always a possibility.
Are you guys really entertaining the idea that the hitch/coupling device can support your 7-9 tons hanging off it?
Or am I due a parrot?

as opposed to the 40 tons it normally holds?

a minute on google will get you pics of tractor units hanging similarly off bridges etc
