A couple of days ago, I received word, that a young Roebuck had died on a friends land. I set up two of my DSLR Camera Traps along with triggered flashes nearby, to see what would take advantage of a free meal. - This Fox turned up at 02.08am and quickly made the most of the situation!
Sad to see that a Roebuck had died, but one creatures misfortune, turned into another creatures survival.......'The Circle of Life'.
Camera Trap Gear:
1. Nikon D7000, Nikon 18.55 kit lens, 2 x Nikon SB-28 Flashes and 'Camtraptions' triggers, all in waterproof housings. - 30mm, 1/160, f8, ISO-400
2. Nikon D7000, Tokina 11-20 wide angle, 2 x Nikon SB-28 Flashes and 'Camtraptions' triggers, all in waterproof housings. - 20mm, 1/160, f8, ISO-400

I spent the day with this Coypu family yesteday......brought to France by the fur trade a century ago, and released into the wild, when no longer fashionable. They are gentle, caring and misunderstood creatures, that are now sadly persecuted and hunted!

I have not seen this female Genet for almost a year, so delighted, when it turned up in the forest a few nights ago and gave me a short sequence of shots.

Some amazing photos on here, any tips as I’m off on safari in a few weeks, best lens I have is 70-300 Nikon.

Looks as though you are on the right track and 300mm should be fine, as most safari vehicles will get quite close to your chosen subjects. It is likely that you will be shooting in well lit areas, so may be worth stopping down the lens to avoid 'bleached out' images. You don't say what 'body' you are using, but make sure that you have suitable memory cards, as it is very tempting to keep your finger on the shutter trigger!Been practicing with a dog

Enjoy the experience and post some images when you get back.

Love that Seal shot!
Here is a shot from two days ago......having spent 3 hours sitting in my hide (in minus 4 degrees) and seeing nothing, this Fox wandered past, on the far side of the lake.
