I love these cats, in my opinion they have the most amazing coat of any animal.

They do get a little tricky to photograph when they come right up to you, in fact just after this shot he came an looked right down the barrel of the lens. A macro lens would have been more appropriate than the telephoto I was using!

Mrs Get works as a volunteer for the RSPB so we tend to get sick birds to look after, pass on to the right place. We were told that a Golden Eagle had broken it's wing so picked it up wrapped in a towel and in a box, and left it in our garage last night to get over shock. Needless to say it was a Buzzard (Everyone that comes here thinks they see Golden Eagles. I've seen 2 in 15 years. See lots of Sea Eagles mind) ... anyway, Buzzard is now en route to a raptor rescue centre on Skye. Managed to give it honey & warm water before it left. Looks good for a possible recovery. Quite alert and bright:

Saw you tweet about this last night Steve, I was pretty jealous at the time as I'd love to see a Golden Eagle. However it's only a Buzzard and we get those over the house here so for once I don't hate you! ![](http://SteveCarter.com/random/buz.jpg)

ETA: We are again facing a cull of boar without any certainty of their numbers. Estimates seems to vary wildly between 150-200 through to 650+. The Forestry Commission have decided that they need to cull 100 boar between now and January, this could have a potentially devastating effect on the boar population. Please sign and forward the petition to suspend this cull for 12 months to help us get a better idea of how many boar there really are.
Stop the Wild Boar Cull
Thanks.

While we're on the subject of deer, took this a couple of weeks ago but have only just got around to it.

Sadly I know virtually nothing about fungi, but when I was out today I spotted this little group growing on a bed of pine needles and thought it might make an interesting shot. I've no idea what sort it is, any info please fellas?

I should think that it's a group of rather old looking fly agaric (Amanita muscaria). Classic toadstool looks and pretty poisonous. Always looks quite cool when you find it in the woods though ![](http://farm8.staticflickr.com/7108/8164512579_c90366777e_b.jpg)
