Taken earlier in the year but only just set up an account.

A rare visitor to the feeder in my garden, Great Spotted woodpecker.





And the ever colourful gold finch who seem to like eating in pairs.

Nice pic. There was an article on Dippers in the Wildlife Trust magazine this month - pretty amazing birds. among other things, apparently they can walk underwater while looking for food, and their blood carries more oxygen than usual so they can stay submerged for longer.

Cheers - yes I heard about the walking underwater thing but have never seen it

Usually found in wetlands and have now been renamed bearded reedlings
