Is this the French guy? I watched a documentary - from his late teens / early twenties, through to present day. He tightrope walked across the twin towers (completely illegally) with no safety net / rope. Worth a watch if it comes on again.

Bizarre, I had a dammed good look at the image and I could have sworn there's something 'odd' about the rope jus behind him, where it appears there's a break in the rope where a carabiner has been removed. I do know the bloke is known for his safety-free stunts but this one genuinely looked 'shopped.
