It's a 1904 Napier L49.
Nice capture! I'd love to see more of the car if you have some?

Thanks. The problem I can't crack is getting an image that looks new, different and inspired when at a car show. The Napier was at the Hampton Court Concours of Elegance (their spelling). Fabulous cars, not too many people, at least early on, but still static.

As you asked, here are a couple of the Napier - immaculately prepared - and some others.

In 2021, there was a selection of Le Mans Proches in various liveries. I like Gulf, but Martini had it cracked. It fitted F1 and rally cars as well.

For this shot, I had to lean over a fence, the intention of which was to keep the likes of me away from the favoured few. I had to take a few shots before I got the one I wanted, and only just made it as the liveried attendant started to walk towards me with a murderous expression on his face. The risks photographers take, eh?

Took a short drive up to Imber, very cool landscape to shoot in, particuarly at night when it's completely deserted.

My first submission, the quality of some of the photos on here is a little daunting. Criticism welcomed...

Nice shot - my only thought would be that generally the car would have been better to the right of the scene so it looks like it's driving into the frame (rather than nearly out of it). Personal preference applies of course smile

Thanks, yes it did occur to me when editing that none of my shots have the car driving into the frame despite that being one of the first things I learned.

Nice work and top choice of car too (but then I'm biased wink )

Did you use a CPL filter? I'm guessing not due to the reflections on the car - they're a must-have for car photography to help tame reflections.

They’re only phone snaps but I try to edit for framing and shade…

Thought I recognised the username from the Jag forums!

No to the filter but certainly will invest in one if they help, a lot of my photos from that day have a lot of glare.

Yeah, I get around a bit wink

Definitely worth getting a CPL, I have a few of them in different thread sizes for most of my lenses. They rotate so you can move the reflection reduction effect across the car, as a minimum rule try and use them to cut reflection on the side of the car most facing the camera but you can also take a few versions of the same photo with the CPL rotated a bit and then stack them in photoshop or similar to expand the effect. Plenty of guides online for more details.
