not a photographer but have a few friends heavy into the blogging thing and making a decent living having given up their jobs.
Their biggest issue is finding decent pictures.
With these they post them on pinterest (using a reposting software to keep them going up maybe 2-3 times a day?) then use affiliate links to click through to whatever each one is selling.
Once the initial posts have been made, which are nothing more than an image, a few lines of text and a link, they are there forever so each additional one just adds more to the potential income stream.
Burt what on earth is that to do with photography? We can't all live on advertising revenue - because we pay for it every time we buy something!Their biggest issue is finding decent pictures.

I think what's going on here is that a couple of people have mentioned blogging (with pictures) as a way of making money, enough to live on even, and other posters who find it difficult to believe that there are enough people who would prefer to read what other people are doing (rather than doing stuff themselves) to pay for it.
I personally find the idea of making money by writing stuff, and taking pictures of it, quite appealing. I'd be interested to see some examples of blogs that people are making a living writing, just to see what level of competition I would have.

blogging is one thing, but it's a tough way to make money if writing isn't your thingI personally find the idea of making money by writing stuff, and taking pictures of it, quite appealing. what I am suggesting is a little more photography geared...
basically just look on here: https://www.pinterest.co.uk/
a large % of the posts on there, which rely solely on the image quality then have a link on to a product somewhere which is an affiliate link. If someone clicks the link and buys that product (or another product from that site in that session[for some sites]) then the poster of that image makes some a percentage of that sale.
