I was about to submit my British Library picture but then remembered - I can't - I'm leaving on the 1st to help out these guys
Team Saluki, a private entry team race against the likes of Peterhansel, Schlesser, Sainz and others in their multi million dollar works teams in the UAE Desert Challenge. We're seeded 16th out of 46 entries... Not bad for a bunch of guys and a 20 odd year old landrover..

Good luck with the entries..

I'm hoping you picked that little beauty and fried it up with a little butter and garlic Mrs. F.

Delicious those shaggy ink caps.

Decent snap too mind...

I've had a local carpenter looking for a nice bit of wood on which to fit a clock I've had in storage for 2 years... he found this fab piece of oak. Not a pic for the comp - 'tis just a snap... but like the shape of the wood (so thought I'd share):

That's cracking!

This is going to sound very odd, but...I can almost smell your house(!)

I'm not odd honestly, but with all that new wood knocking around, does it still smell really new? That coupled with the Highlands in Autumn, it must be an amazing place to live!

It actually does smell very strongly of wood (when you walk in)... but we are almost used to it now, but visitors mention it a lot.

Quick opinions from you all if I may...my entry (first one) for this month's competition....

which do you think? I took these specifically for the competition as I had nothing previously done (building up my database as we speak!). Comments and criticisms - as well as which one to put forward - muchly appreciated!

Thanks all
Tony

This is what the snails do on the inside of our bathroom windows. I'm not quite sure what to do to give it a little more zip..

Loving your photo in the competition Jo (blondmoment)

Hope you don't mind me having a play. Thought I'd just crop the edges off. Very moody!

This is the most interesting shot - an attractive range of shapes, good range of tones and patterns, well balanced composition. This shot works better than the colour version because of the tones and shadows. Good architectural photography needs an eye for choosing an unconventional viewpoint and framing - you've got this just right with this one Tony.

Funny - I tried that too, and couldn't decide which one to use! Thanks!

The Millau Bridge is just a 'must-do' thing in life - it was absolutely amazing.
I took about 40 photo's - a couple of which are just stunning (IMHO, of course!)
When I get time, I'll pop some on the forum.......
