Old insurance scam. Guy claimed that a bird caused the accident. He didn't count on every person having a camera in their pocket and some young car enthusiasts seeing him and filming him quite obviously driving into the lake and leaving the engine running until it destroyed itself. Owner paid half what he had insured it for but ended up doing time.

Porsche centre Amsterdam, next to the motorway there are a series of dealers (Audi, Volvo etc.) all along that side and the not having barriers is very common over here. According the owner of the dealer it was a mechanic who made a whoopsie, the car had just been wrapped and was set to delivered.

In strangley coincidental news a truck drove through our office 40km south of this yesterday taking out 3 cars including a Maserati.
