Not sure it's quite worthy to share space with some of the other pics on this thread, but I like this one, different take again on contrast - colour.

Not the best quality as it was taken a fair few years ago when 2MP was good!

The classic 'Dark VS Light'

Us, vs Zombies?

Spot the odd one out?

Enough tomfoolery then moving on to something more serious.

My final submission:

I have always been pleased with this photo, which I captured (after hours of shooting) from a fast moving train deep in the Romanian countryside. Chronologically, from left to right three generations are portrayed, their years more visible in the original, both in age as well as choice of dress.

The rule of thirds balances this composition, perhaps a family, who might be viewed as somewhat old fashioned today, stopping to acknowlege the passing of a more modern vehicle.

The man on the right has put down his conventional scythe, yet clasps a new plastic waterbottle in his hand. The lack of buildings and generous pastures seem to protect their tradition, as do the mountins, but the train and electricity pylons hint that a more modern age has already begun to encroach upon their space.

Wheel is indeed B&W. This was taken at Silverstone when I was there for a weekend race meeting. The guy driving this beauty was in his early twenties! (I got the impression his family owned a classic ferrari dealership). Anyway, he arrived each morning in a different form of £'000K exotica and parked it casually among the trailers and support vans. The first one illustrated the contrast best I thought....

Day1.

Day2.

Day3.

Played around with brightness and contrast in Photoshop...

This one is untouched. It's a traditional easter fire. There are a lot of those fires in the eastern parts of the Netherlands and the western parts of Germany. And that you can smell...

Have a pic of this car from Brands Hatch last year. Was driven so a photographer could get some images. Driver tried to get the back end to slide out but had limited success. Noise was fantastic though. Made a huge bang when braking for Druids.
