Great work from everyone as usual.

Chris, that surgery sounds, erm, interesting! Hope you are ok and back to normal quickly.

Wish I hadn't looked on here, some fantastic shots here recently.

Unfortunately not much photo opportunities from my hospital bed, had brain surgery on Friday but hopefully get some shooting in a few weeks. I'll not bore you with the details but suffice to say it was very bizarre. Anyway all appears well speach is slightly impaired till swelling goes down.

(for those interested in details, google wide awake crainactomy, basiccaly brain surgery whilst awake)
Chris

Sorry. Missed that... Glad you've been 'in and done' Onward and upward! All the best for a complete recovery. I'm not even going to ask how weird it must have been having brain surgery while awake!

Nice set thumbup

My 2p worth: They are all a wee bit on the dark side, especially the foreground which in most of them is almost completely blacked out. I would have tried to get right down to the waters edge and see if there were any nice reflections and maybe got up close to a nice stone or post.

Sunset 3 is the best imho - I have had a stab at an edit in photoshop to give you an idea of what can be done. Levelled it up a bit and corrected the perspective to get the lamppost vertical, cropped in a bit to remove some dead space at the bottom, lightened the shadows a touch, add a bit of contrast and sharpened. (It's low res as I nicked it from Flickr so looks a bit grainy but you get the idea. You could do much more with the original especially if shot in RAW ). There is a great pic in there actually - well done smile

Thanks for taking the time to do that - I'm a big fan of your shots so that's a huge compliment!

I don't think my camera has the capability to shoot in RAW (it's just a wee fujifilm finepix number) but I think I might start to have a dabble on this photoshop and see how it goes.

Thanks again! thumbup

Cheers all, yes brain surgery whilst awake is pretty much the most bizarre thing you can do. Least I'll have an interesting story to tell at the postponed wedding...

Lloyd that shot is absolutely stunning, great work...

Cue for a large number of 'like I need another hole in the head' jokes? wink

I wonder what it must have been like in the days before modern surgery techniques?

Best of luck for a rapid recovery.

Yup best wishes for your recovery Chris.

Anyway - some random stuff.

Take an old dinner set an old pallet and a quick bit of bodging. Invite the kids from next door to come and have some fun and you'll end up with quite a bit of cleaning up to do.

None of your fancy sound triggers here smile

You are very welcome thumbup

It's definitely worth doing a bit of pp, even just some simple things can make a big difference - look forward to seeing your next efforts smile

Sorry, more pictures of buildings. When you're in London, it's basically buildings or street. And I cannot be arsed doing street right now.

Thrilled to be able to finally get out of the house after surgery (no where near Chris's complexity of procedure however!) and I haven't shot a landscape in ages! I intended to try a pano but I have a terrible tripod and it was just far too difficult hehe Awful weather for much of today but the sunset was really good. I noticed late but hopefully not too late.
