I've wanted these shots for years, but the distance always put me off (9-hour round-trip...). I tried it once before, but the weather turned on the way up and by the time I got there, it was thick fog and drizzle - couldn't even see the castle!
My eldest son and I set off at midnight on Thursday and arrived at 4:30am Friday - the effort was definitely worthwhile - the light was changing by the minute, ranging from deep blues, through pink/purple and eventually a lovely gold tinge

Dodged the rain and thunderstorms at home last night and went to Meols, a new location for me (after the obligatory seaside fish and chips!)

It's been AGES since I posted anything on here (although I often visit the Forum). Anyway; I've been experimenting with light-painted still-life photography, some of it automobilia/engineering-themed. Here's a recent-ish example:
