Have any of you early adopters of the A7/A7r had any reliability issues? I'm toying with the idea of getting an A7 mk1 now they are cheaper. I'm coming from a D700 which to be quite honest I would imagine will still be working in 30 years time it's so robust!
It's either that or a D750......decisions!
Assuming you don't NEED image stabilisation from mk2 or extra pixels from the R, get the A7, I got one 6 months or so ago... and its bloomin' awesome, yes you will need extra batteries, but thats not major 3rd party ones are cheap...It's either that or a D750......decisions!
I've recently teamed it up with the 55/1.8 Zeiss... amazing stuff! Going to give it a big weekend out at Revival next week!

When will they sort out the AF? I'd be so happy to move to Sony from Canon at least for travel cameras but the AF is still nowhere near as good as 1DX or 5D for sports/running dogs which I need it for. Also using SD cards slows down the write speed so much in comparison to CF
This is the reason I'm going to sell my A7ii. Yes the picture quality is great, but pictures of the kids running around? No easy. Edited by WWA on Saturday 3rd September 00:35
