Incredible resolution but I'm amazed it's any use shooting through the atmosphere. You'd think that 50 miles of air would be quite a problem

That's why it's going on top of a chilean mountain, minimises the depth of atmosphere and less pollution there too.

I've got a Panasonic G9 and it has a feature that allows 80mp JPEGs (120 RAW) in-camera images. I've done a little photostacking with 2 such images and I keep saying I'm going for 10 images. I am not sure what the point is other than that I will say I've done it.

That's why it's going on top of a chilean mountain, minimises the depth of atmosphere and less pollution there too.
Yes, I get minimised, but that still means shooting through 45+ miles of atmosphere. Still, they know what they're doing and certainly an incredible machine.
