The more I use the 100mm Macro the more I love it.

Just curious, is that a crop or a resize?
How close are you to get that with 100mm?

Hank,
That is full frame, 1:1, and the front of the lens was just over a foot away from the bee. HTH>

Do you find camera-shake at that magnification a problem?

Not a problem at all. I set the camera to Manual with the apature set to f22 to give a reasonable DOF, and the shutter speed set at either 1/250th or thereabouts to keep the image sharp. The EZ580 takes care of the amount of light needed, it's as easy as having everything on P. If the image comes out underexposed to begin with I turn down the shutter speed to 1/125th, and if that is not enough I start dialing in overexposure on the flash(Thanks for that tip, Luca)
I have to say, the more I use the EZ580 the more I realise what a wonderful bit of kit it is.

Martin.

Not if it's on manual it doesn't!

Camera set to Manual, Flash set to ETTL

Anyway, seeing as you crashed my thread, I shall follow your example

Feel free! Great picture, love the minimal DOF yet keeping so many stamen in focus.

I think it's 1.8 metres. Here's one I prepared earlier

Martin.

PS - Phl, I've got a set of jessos extention tubes and they work really well for the price. You even retain autofocus.
