an esteemed member of this forum showed me today that it is possible to corrupt a memory card by taking it out while the camera is on and reading

Anyway, managed to salvage these

I take it "esteemed" is no longer to be used in the same sentence?

Who? Chuck him out of the "clud"!!!

my lips are sealed if he wants to identify himself it's his decision

More importantly, I do like it when someone tests technology to the limits for me! What actually happened?

I don't know precisely, but basically the card was taken out whilst it was on and pictures were being looked through, which appears to have resulted in pictures 38-103 being corrupted (truncated files or something). The worst bit is that I lost all my DBR9 pics, apart from the one above. But the conversation that followed when I discovered the mistake was priceless!

I got Lexar Image Recovery with with a Lexar CF card. (I was looking for a CD until the penny dropped!) I see that I saved it in a folder called 'PC' which bodes well for you as it implies there was a Mac version too.

yup seems there is a mac version. did it come on a Cd with the card?

I'll drop the penny for you - it was on the CF card It also came with a Jumpshot card reader so you just copy the stuff over. But I dumped the Mac version, sorry.

However ScoobySnax had the same card; maybe ask him?

my lexar card was already a bit used when I got it, so I think that stuff had been deleted. Maybe if I had the software I could recover it????

"Image Rescue"? I've got it! (If that's any use) Haven't used it - well only to format all my cards and test them, and despite buying a couple secondhand I've not (yet - here's touching wood!) had problem so far....

have you got the mac version?

No - you'll want Harold Wilson* for that!

Sorry I'm not a "Mac-man", myself. I was just thinking that, if you got the card to me, I could try a "rescue" - but I'm up near Ricky and you're in town, I think.....

*Younger viewers need not worry about this - you won't even know there's a word "gaberdine"!

thanks for the offer, but i think it has been written over too many times unfortunately! Has anyone out there got the software in Mac version?
