First D70 pics...

...taken at the EERC Britcar meeting on Sunday at Snetterton. Took most of them on the Sports setting using the 70-300 zoom. Rattled off over 500 pics!
Even though the camera was on a pre-determined setting as opposed to me choosing how to set it, I was really pleased with the results. I got so carried away with the 'luxury' of taking seemingly endless shots that I didn't even think to change any settings!
Anyway, here's a few of my favourite pics. With more practice, I guess they can only get better!
Can I just add that I think my Nikon and I are gonna be very happy together...

All you need to practice now is image resizing and compression. I have broadband and they're still downloading!
Oops, sorry about that. I just upgraded my Photobucket account to Premium to cater for these pics and forgot to reduce the sizes before posting them.

We'll have to wean you off that "sport" mode....
- only joking! Was just wondering what settings and lens (270mm?) you were on......
Beano, all I did was put the setting dial onto sport mode, set the lens aperture ring to minimum and zoom away! (mainly between 200 and 300mm) I know it's not very original but I just wanted to get a 'feel' of the camera and see what basic results I could get.
Next time I promise to do something imaginative!

Thanks for the kind comments. I haven't puchased a copy of Photoshop yet (spent quite enough last weekend as it was!) but I'm sure I'll succumb sooner rather than later.
I'll have a play with the points you mentioned, Simpo, regarding brightening them up a bit. I had the aperture lens ring locked with the little doofah 'cos it wouldn't let me take a pic first of all and I had to read the troubleshooting section to find out why!
Once again, thanks for the advice and comments.

Great pics, Trackside I love the first one where the Porker's back tyre is off the rim and it's still managing to lift a front wheel!
Martin.
PS - how do Porche and Ferrari qualify for a Britcar race?
Thanks Martin.
There's a new top class this year to cater for pukka GT cars i.e. over 380bhp, I think. Superb series to watch and be around with a good variety of cars racing. Very open and friendly atmosphere in the pits and paddock and quite a lot of PHers involved, racing and spannering.
