The topic this month is, 'outdoor flash photography'.

The images can be of any subject but must be taken outdoors and show a high level of technical skill and/ or creativity in the use of flash photography.

Rules:

The photos taken must be your own work and can be taken at anytime, but please do get out with your gear if you have safe opportunity etc.

The competition will run from the first to the last day of the month.

You can only submit one, and only one photo.

The winner from the previous month decides on the topic for the following month and judges it at the end of the month.

Entries and discussion on this single thread please.

All entrants acknowledge that they may indeed win and that their adherence to convention ensures everyone else's continued fun.

Photos entered can be as large as you like, although bear in mind if too large, it may not be possible to see the whole image on some screens. Links to larger versions are permissible

Well done to everybody who entered, some great entries, any of which could have made the top 3

My personal favourite is:

1st - I have tried to photograph the very same subject but with nowhere near this level of success, I love the colour and action (assume some form of 2nd curtain sync? any technical details would be greatly appreciated)

2nd - My second favourite is this excellent wildlife shot, its great to hear the lengths you went to to capture this.
