I'm sorely tempted to do something like this for a hoot.

You could always start low - and hang it all from a chinese lantern type arrangement and get a nice flyover of your neighbourhood. They probably stay in the air for about 20 minutes or so I would guess.

No doubt mine would float off into the channel so I'm tempted to put up a chinese lantern with a cheapo HD camera pointing downwards and setting it off during a nice clear summers morning...
