Last day of work for this time.
The flinstone unit replaced with a mighty 2.9l v6, took a few tries and a pair of extra hands ( might have used some cursing also)driving
Rocker covers changed to "new" nice once. That created a new problem, they are a few mm higher then the old so noe the alternator bracket don't fit...

"New" rocker cover

Engine mount

Mans best friend?

Hope my father sort all the "small jobs" out until next time I go north to work on my S-fighter!

Back home after a few days up in a cold Umeå. -20-24*C and lots of snow smile

View from garage

The making of a pin

Brake pedal and bracket modified here with the custom made pin, bushes and washer

Perfect fit!
Darn impressed by the oldtimer who made the parts. Hole in the Brakebooster was 11mm and a bit ( inches I guess) so hi drilled it up to 11,5mm and after that made the parts from scratch to fit!

Cat helped warming up my brain

What could possibly go wrong?

My father working och front assembly

Front brakes upgraded to 260mm

ARB and droplinks in place

Thx Mike for lending me a Spigot bearsilly

Why did I find that darn Autosol-tube?

Thats it for this time, lots of work still needed to be done before Monaco :P

TFL!

Back up in Umeå with pretty big pressure to get my Tiv back on the ground.
It stated bad with the brake master cylinder not fitting, turned quarter of a turn😟
Ordered a new asap from Tvr-parts, so if someone need a fiesta NOS without reservoir let me know!
Next problem I discovered was a small damage on the clutch pipe, that sorted a new one will be in my hands tomorrow.
Radiator flushed and put back in place, cooling hoses and pipes almost all in place. Still hav not put the swirl pot and expansion tank in place.
Big THANK YOU to Shaun for excellent craftsmanship!

Rear wheel bearing going in.
New wheel bearing and grease seal. by Manfred Svärd, on Flickr

Two more days or hard work completed.
Some more setbacks, the new clutch salve cylinder was different connection compared to the old and that we discovered after some bad language.
Well he saved the situation since he had the right stuff at the shop and fixed it in a hart beat!
The differential mount also gave us problems, supplied bolts was 20mm to long, will sort that tomorrow...
Rear trailing arms would not go back in place willingly with the new bushes, tomorrow Manfred’s problem.
On the good side, cat’s and j-pipe in place, we did get the clutch working, differential in place just last two bolts missing.

An intensive week have come to end.
Still lots of stuff to sort for my father coming weeks, so don’t be surprised if a Morris marina turns up in France...
We did get the car down on the floor to check and do a first damper setting and after that back up in the air.

One alloy rocker cover, one pressed steel?

What do I win? smile
I guess you can have a liquid prize in France 😊
Alternator bracket won’t fit with the aluminium rocker covers, new modified being mad as we speak. Hope it fits and not giving me issues with finding a fan belt that fits...

Is it a British Leyland screenwash bag type reservoir from an MG B?

Or the alternator tensioner strut from a Ford Sierra?
Nope!
But yes I have changed the screenwash to a stainless one.

And "Nope" again!
The one on TVR actually a Ford part, but yes I have replaced it with one from another car wink

Where did the alternator bracket come from ??
It’s custom made after a blueprint made by me on a cardboard box from some car part: smile
Needed to get the alternator little higher up with the “new” rocker covers.
