Good idea to piggy back a 12 volt buzzer onto the flasher unit while your at it so you can hear when they are on.
Maplins FL40T will do nicely.

Good idea, and consider fitting a cut out switch so it doesn't drive you mad in town traffic.

I did have to tone it down a bit with some insulating tape, but at least it helps remind you the flashers are going.

I can tell when I've left mine on, as the voltmeter bounces wildly!
