I've got an old TomTom One XL with an SD card to cope with the memory requirement. Does the job.

should we start a thread with what spares/tools we are taking - so not every-one takes the same?

Nice idea Mick, been suggested before (particularly re big stuff like space saver spare wheels) but as it's not feasible to keep all the cars in one big group and even smaller groups will change from day to day, there's no guarantee of the part or tool you need being with your little bunch of cars.

A very random "everyone take what they think" has worked pretty well in the past smile

As Longers has correctly noted in the PIMP, on Thursday, I need to go to the dentist, pick up the Mrs. and get me a*se to Luxembourg, arriving at the hotel in time for dinner.

Per effect we will be a day later then most of you, and we are local(ish), hence if someone is in need of anything, or had forgotten something, let me know (Longers has my number...)

looking forward to meet you all and setting the Ardennes/Eifel/Holland alight with the sound of noise...

Hilde & Frank

Nigel, at least with a TVR the front of the car crosses the line first unlike the pendulum that is a Porsche with the engine in the wrong place tongue out

So let's hope this doesn't turn into a TG Botswana special and nobody has to finish the trip in the beetle ;-)

Ha ha! There's every chance that Terry might overshoot a destination, but I think Botswana is stretching it a bit far, even by his standards.

scratchchin I wonder if there will be a beetle following us on this tour?
I can't imagine the humiliation that would have to be endured by somebody actually starting out in one! yikes

Bonjour les Mecs
Just be careful around Calais as not all petrol stations have fuel due to the strike. Still 6 out of 8 refineries closed! There is an app you can download which will tell you where you can get fuel if you haven't filled up on the M20 at Tesco! rolleyes Smartphone app : (http://penurie.mon-essence.fr/w/).
Check this website : http://penurie.mon-essence.fr/w/ Glen's the one to ask for French lessons on the ferry. His accents a lot better after two pints of John Smith's.laugh

Based on past experience it is best to fill up before getting on the ferry/train. This gives even a V8S enough to get to Luxembourg for the next fill-up. Although if French stations are closed perhaps we should expect even longer queues at the big fuel stop in Lux?

Thanks Debs! thumbupbeer

If we can't get petrol, I suppose we (oui?) S Clubbeurs could use cognac whilst waiting for the fuel supplies to return to normal.

MadameDMC? Interesting Username... Have you set your sights on a DeLorean as the next auto for your collection?
They are rubbish without the flux capacitor!

Edit: By the way, my French is rubbish, I can't even pronounce "Troyes" properly, not like Potless Paul who is fluid in French. wink.
But I can just about manage to get by. smile
