- As well as providing a huge sugar rush, these would also make perfect exhaust baffles!

Glen, nice to see that you are still concerned about my lost package. I did eventually receive the fake oakwood plastic veneer PC desk. It took me a few weeks to set it up and now it's working perfectly.
Still waiting to fit Han's Ex-exhaust though. My original plan to just Hoover the passenger footwell carpet, turned into a complete body off resto !
Just took this out, now only the engine is left attached to the chassis.

Tim, May I commend you on your superb workstation organisation and layout. It should be hailed as an example to us all!
I hope you have submitted this for consideration for this year's Design Standards Institute Awards competition. It is innovative, comprehensively effective, flexible, accessible and elegant in its' execution. A model to us all sir!
Indeed it would not look out of place in the National Gallery as an example of function coupled with uncompromised form. Outstanding effort sir!

May I suggest that you renew the engine mounts if they look at all suspect before the body goes back on? They are so much easier to replace at this stage. Worn mounts result in the sump sitting on the anti-roll bar, and eventually chafing through.

Thanks for the engine mount tip Glen, always appreciated. You should have seen the desk before I got the flat screen monitor and the cordless mouse - it was a real mess !

Pffft! I invited Tracy Emin along foe a special private viewing of my garage, and despite her initially showing a great deal of enthusiasm, she has not bothered to speak to me since then. Either she is intent on plaguarising my work, or she is buried under an avalanche of car parts.
I did warn her that some parts were unstable and could slip at the slightest touch.
If I don't hear anything from her before next week, I shall assume she's not interested in reproducing a full diorama for the Tate Modern, or she has martyred herself on an S3 gearlever.

I don't see any problem... Looks like a very well organised desk to me, what is worrying though is why have you collected a load of bottles of trucker p!ss from the side of the dual carriageway and arranged them at the back of your desk, (with the caps off), do you like the smell?!!!

I'm opening this old thread as I'm about to have a new exhaust done to my S3C and need some advise.
The guys at MOT was a bit disapointed about the exhausts and when I took it a part at home both cat's were empty. Well one was emty and the other one just cracked inside. Is that common?
I have seen some pictures of systems where the rear tubes are straight and not bent around the diff. Does that also work on an S3C?
My old system is pretty beat up and the front section was removed years ago so only the squarish box in the middle remains. And that is completely empty. A prior owner has made some home brewed front part of questionable design. Probably to increase ground clearance.
Please post Pictures of you systems and how they are mounted.
And for those having installed new cat's, what did you use, why and were did you get them.

Hi Rob,
Your S3c exhaust system appears to have been somewhat modified from the norm ( if there is such a thing with TVRS! )
Here is the standard set up:
It is common practise to remove the catalytic converters and replace with flanged straight decat pipes.
The splayed rear pipes are designed to clear the fuel tank collector swirl pot and main fuel feed pipe to the pump. This also gave slightly better access to the propshaft rear u/j grease nipple. Bonus!
The S1 and early S2 had parallel rear pipes and the fuel tank well was in a different place. They will not fit an S3c.
Stainless systems are obtainable to order from ACT Products.
Mild steel ones sometimes come up for auction on fleabay, but don't hold your breath.

Or is it just an improvement in ground clearence?
I seem to have read somewhere that someone was using the straight pipes for the rear part on an S3 but cannot find it now.
