Started to make the inlet

Looks very neat. Are those silicon elbows going to see manifold vacuum? If so, they'll need some internal support. I faced the same issue on mine. I solved it with an internal spring to stop the hose collapsing under vacuum.
Yes - where did you get the springs?

Completed the main inlet system - just brake servo and breather vac lines (and Air Temp) to sort along with wire up the Throttle body to ecu and tidy the wiring

spent over an hour trying to make a satisfactory spring but gave up and forced 50mm st st tube into the hose right up to the change in direction at the 90 - so only the small section of actual bend is unsupported.

Wonder what would happen if a piece of spring was sucked in
That was my worry and could not get a satisfactory looking coil after an hour of trying.

Thant's coming along very nicely Mick. Will you be able to get away without a bonnet bulge?
Keep up the good work thumbup
That is something I will be looking at, I like the look of the S4 bonnet biggrin

But if I need the big bulge rolleyes I may well put a light bar in the front of it as it is not there to feed air in.

Strange?

yep

I can go through all the usual procedure, browse and pick the photo, press upload and the circle of upload dots go round for 20 seconds then get the phrase 'No Photo Found' This happens on both my phone and laptop! I had already downgraded the camera to 2Meg pictures.

Working full time December and January isn't helping the build as only having Saturday mornings.

Anyway - a little headway - Spun the engine on the starter to see what oil pressure - a healthy 75psi smile

oil pressure switch not illuminating the oil light though confused

Also the ign warning light not illuminating - so some investigation reqd.

Filled the cooling system with a 50/50 antifreeze mix - no obvious leaks smile

Decided to tidy the wiring by running it in black 32mm plastic waste pipe idea

Photos are on the facebook page

Yahoo....... it fires up and runs.

Car at Jools place.

It wouldn't work because I had too small a fuse in the injector, coil and lambda circuit. Replaced with next size up. Sounds nice too.

The VVT as standard comes on at 5200rpm and stays on until the rev limiter, this reduces the peak power!
Hence why mine now goes off at 5800rpm. TB has been bored out,
open air filter, tubular exhaust manifolds,no cats and an EWP all add up to extra power from the engine, combined with no aircon pump or PAS pump.
Without any VVT in use it made 264bhp,we then experimented with VVT on and off points to get it where it is now.
Hi Cos
what is your TB bored out to? mine is a 75mm Alpha unit

Mine also runs an electric water pump with a TinyCWP controller.

unfortunately the 90deg blue hoses do collapse with vacuum

now going to purchase aluminium ones - assuming somewhere is open in the next 10 days or so

I guess you don't have the alfa ones then frown ... good progress non the less cant wait to see the dyno graph smile

I borrowed a set of Alpha inlet pipes and could not get them to fit. (they are a bit small on the diameter mind you)

I do think my inlet may compromise power a little with the different tract lengths, hoping to sort that eventually

when Emerald update the ecu to run 2 lambdas, I have already installed bosses in each manifold.

Merry Christmas to every one

The S has been on the rolling road and the headline figure 265 bhp, but with some minor issues. VVT not working giving a dip in torque curve in mid range. But overall I'm satisfied. driving
