Hi all
All the time I have a hole in my posterior I don't think I'm gonna get the hang of trying to search the Forum!

I tried searching for S wishbones, then restricting the search to TVR, unchecked all models, checked S and ended up with every God almighty non-relevant post in the Universe!

WHAT THE BLUE BLAZES AM I DOING WRONG?!

So now I'm hassling you all instead - sorry.

With the car up on the ramp last night - bleddy luvverly - found a screw head sized git of a hole in the NSF outrigger. So I toodled off to see that nice man Colin at TVRSSW this afternoon and he reckons a localised sleeve will sort it.

Also found a split boot on NS top wishbone last night.

With a week or two before the Great God Colin can deal with the outrigger, I have yet more questions: re the wishbones

- big job?
- do top and bottom at same time?
- both sides?
- cost?
- where to source parts/ what donor vehicle?

Thanks in advance
Tony

If you're talking about a split boot on the top balljoint then you either replace the boot or replace the balljoint, and it's not urgent unless the balljoint itself is significantly worn. There's no reason to do anything with any of the other balljoints unless they have problems of their own.

Nothing. The PH search function is crap. It used to be pretty good, but it's been "improved." rolleyes

Hi Tony,

If you look at the S Series topic headings on here and click on 'Useful Links",
then "Alternative Parts List" or "PH Parts Mist", there is a wealth of handy information to be seen.

If you do mean top balljoint, not wishbone, it is from Saab 900.
Be aware that some will need fettling on the shoulders to allow the necessary range of camber adjustment within he top wishbone mounting.
If the balljoint is not worn, you can just replace the rubber boot with a generic item.

Re the PH search function, I have given up on it, and use google instead. Enter ( for example ) "Pistonheads TVR S Series top balljoint replacement' and you should get sensible results.

You are using the PH search facility.

Use Google "pistonheads tvr s series top ball joint" will bring up this lot, that should be enough to get you started smile

I'd imagine your man at TVRSSW can supply the part or TVR Parts can if you don't want to take your chances with a Saab item?
