Ok folks how many 24v conversions do we have and where are you up to in the process.? Also any comments re gearbox ecu etc.

DamianS3 24v Jaguar Duratec, on the road (mostly). Jaguar getrag 221 gearbox (standard) MBE 9A9 ECU giving CoP, VVT and inlet length control. Requires. 3.15 or so diff conversion. Also running Granada cosworth spec brakes and LSD, Nitrons.
Great conversion, goes really and is quick. It's seen 240bhp on the dyno seems to get improved drivability and fuel economy too. Very loud through standard exhaust

Cossy 24v. On road 3 years. Standard BOA running standard ecu but running too rich. Does not feel quick.
MT75 box with home made gearstick assembly. Also used type 9 clutch arm and A slave. Competition clutch was another bad move as it is a switch. Viscous lad. BIG brakes 383 discs and AP 4 pots and Sierra rear discs. Unfortunately 15s will not clear the calipers so running 17s. Converted Griff Bilsteins and 450 / 375 springs. Rides bumps well considering it is very low at 135/145mm ground clearance. Exhaust sounds nice.

I only have the rolling chassis completed so no comment on power and drivability, etc.
24v Cossie BOA with standard clutch and MT75 gearbox. Griff 500 brake set up and LSD from the Scorpio I snatched the engine from. I'm likely to use an Emerald K6 for engine management, and I have a modified exhaust system.
Currently working on the body prior to repaint later this year.

But its under covers at the mo, as my dad passed away in the spring, and I'm dealing with all his affairs, the estate etc. Hopefully getting back to it soon, I hope !

In the process of 24v (ing ) the car (BOA engine) gathering parts as I go,brakes uprated already to 260mm , uprated type 9 but considering a 5 speed RX8 box..badly needs a respray but mechanicals come first
Love to LSD it but diff is not bolt up flanges but push in shafts !

32 Valve Lexus conversion
Just in the final stages of the rebuild, body off to paint the underside, engine out so the painters can do the engine bay, one or two jobs to do, roof being the one I need to finish off ASAP.
Other jobs are all small but time consuming, I did hope to be on the road this year but with a bit of ill health and work at home the car just got side lined, back on the job now. Rolling chassis looks like I painted it white due to all the sanding on the body, first job today is out with the air gun.
Need a bit of lathe time to finish the idler tension pulley for the oil pump, need to make and weld a oil line connector so I can put a magnetic oil plug in the pump supply, all in all thing going well.
Lots of work done to the chassis,

After taking the body off, should be gloss black
Engine ready to go back in, just not sure on the red exhaust wrap

If I had to replace my BOA I'd go Jag too. I believe no chassis mods but DamianS3 will be able to confirmAny modifications to the sump or inlet manifold?

I know prices have been going up which seems a bit daft. Engines seem to be available for about £400 if you look around but there's obviously an element of risk. Have you seen anything that looks reasonably good of late?Any modifications to the sump or inlet manifold?

If the engine is from an S type they have a big protuberance at the front of the sump, you can either fit the sump from a st220 or X type or mod the lower cross member, which also involves relocating the anti roll bar. We modded the cross member as we didn't have a sump available and wanted to keep the engine as standard as possible. If you swap sump y may need the oil pickup to swap over too.Any modifications to the sump or inlet manifold?

Width wise you are fine as the engine is a 60 degree v design.
Looks like only 2 x 24v cars on the road and Pistonheads so far.. more are around. The biggest issue with the Jaguar engine is the ECU and throttle body. You could buy a cheaper ECU without inlet valve control and put the money to a set of ITBs from Jenvey which should see 280 or so BHP.. not cheep though.
Also don't forget you will probably want to swap the diff to a 3.15 or so item.

We modded both front cross members, you can see just under the battery, sorry don't have a better picture right now you can also see the relocated anti roll bar.
We also removed the swirlpot and added blead lines to the radiator.

Jenvey 70mm TB this is probably a bit big maybe 65 mm would give better part throttle control.?
No ISCV the ECU takes care of idle on its own.

Hi, not seen anybody doing S conversions, most of the work is trial and error which would be quite expensive in just the labour costs alone. You will need some basic skills to do these conversions welding would be one + welding equipment (or a good pall with both). Track v Road could do the mechanicals for you.. they have patterns for the conversion engine mounts,.. then You or Nobel etc would need to sort the ECU and wiring loom etc. Depending upon the inlet you go for.. as well as the options mentioned above a st220 inlet could be used with the St220 throttle body this would keep the inlet side simple from the ECU standpoint.
A lot of trial mad error on the first one (mine) but we know what works now., it's fair to say this quite a bit more work than the Cosworth route.

If i end up going this route I'd like to eventually fit bob cams is that a relatively easy swap?
The AJ30 engine looks fantastic but I think it might be a bit beyond my budget.
