Broken door handle cable

So I was putting the door cards back on following a renovation of the electric windows (which race up and down now quite nicely!) and the steal rod that hooks (awkwardly) onto the door mechanism broke.

Has anyone got any experience or advice for replacing this? Couldn't find anything detailed about the internal door mechanism in the 'bible'.

Quickly learning that life is never straight forward when working on TVRs!

Cheers folks, a piece of coat hanger has done the job perfectly, feel a bit embarrassed I didn't think of that myself!
