After an erratic couple of years my fuel gauge is now completely useless. No matter how much fuel I have in the tank, it tells me it's empty. Initially I thought it was the sender unit in the tank, but when I tested the connections on the back of the gauge the multimeter showed a 12v terminal (presumably power in), a 0v terminal (presumably the earth side) and a 6.5v terminal (presumably the return from the sender unit). Does anybody know whether these readings are normal (indicating a gauge problem) or abnormal (indicating a sneder problem). I don't really mind what it is as long as I don't replace the wrong part!

Cheers
