Alternator for S2

Just had the 4th emergency service out who checked the battery ( it is dud!)
He also told me that the alternator is throwing out 1v less than it should, then promptly recomended me to get a new one!

Q1 Does this sound right to anyone?

Q2 If so where can i get one(alternator) and what type is it as the description of mine has rubbed/peeled off!

Thanks all for your help, it might be a nice weekend so i am desperate to get this sorted
