Don't forget the reason I want to do this is to make a bit of a video Stefan.
The trick is to place a sound recorder in your car so that it picks up your exhaust without the annoying wind noise. Video taken from other cars and from your windscreen (I have a mount). Recombine the sound and video when back at base and make a DVD.

I can easily make a route which will allow that, but I don't see how going to Tynemouth type area is going to allow for it.

Much better idea IMO to head up towards Alston and use my local knowledge up there - I know some nice roads (by my standards) which will allow for pictures/video etc.

Alston sounds good, great roads and countryside, and a few chippys getting there from the tunnel without hitting a traffic light or built up area will be somewhat imposible I would think.

Now look, you're not hijacking my Tyne Tunnel idea for a run up to Alston. I want a video of our cars going through the tunnel, a bit like the TG film of the Zonda in a tunnel, in the South of France.

Unfortunately, we don't have the South of France, we only have South of Shields, so that'll have to do.

There's a bridge on the end of the South entrance of the tunnel which looks all the way down the tunnel, so we get a great shot and plenty of noise. Combine that with a passing shot inside the tunnel and we have ourselves a film worth listening to.

Quite right byff and we should look out for stone walled bridges or enclosed roads so that we can get some more reverberations occurring. I wonder if there are any shale or grass carparks, just thinking donut.

Large wall on the slip road just to the south, when you've come from the tunnel.

Its huge, and gives a superb 'sound wall'.

Position the camera at the round-about and you'll get some good footage as the cars come off the main road and then go around ( underneath the main rd), the roundabout.

Then head back to the tunnel !

Quicker than going to Alston.

If you can't find a camera car then I'll volunteer if someone brings the camera.....it's not a droptop but it is quieter than your TiVs
