Bit of a problem.
Bu99er. Hope all works out in time. I don't think Croft will let you on track with Malamutes and a sled

OK folks, things to remember:

  • Those of you who have trackday cover within policy will need to ring their insurers to inform them of the date and place of this MSA event

  • You will need to bring your driving licence and counterpart if applicable

  • Check for advice on tyre pressures for track use and set them cold before you leave home

  • Check all fluid levels

  • Fuel up just before you arrive, should last till lunchtime

  • It may be worth a quick look-see at your front and rear pads. If they're on their last legs then they may fail you under heavy use

  • Don't forget your helmet

  • You will need to bring some food for lunch and I'd suggest you bring lots to drink

  • Something to clean the windscreen

  • Comfortable shoes as narrow as possible

The other thing was that it's Teemu's birthday (21st) and I'm hoping if he comes down a couple of people may offer him a passenger ride?
Don't forget all people wanting to be passengers must be registered and must have listened to the safety briefing. Those registered to drive can be passengers also.

and also that the £5 fee for passenger registration only applies to one car, this means that those who wish to go round in lots of cars may have to provide lots of fivers

Bob said it was a fiver for the full day...
The fiver is for the paper admin and the safety brief. They don't check who's in which car. They only check that the driver and passenger have track passes. Things may have changed though I don't see why they should have; it's been 18 months since I last used Croft so anything is possible.

I suggest someone with an interest in this rings Croft to confirm.

The entry pipes are the same diameter as the intermediate pipes - hence, it won't go on.
Any exhaust fitter will be able to swage the pipe to the right id. Would be easier than welding.

Just a friendly word of caution to those eager for passenger rides. This normally isn't a issue but we do seem to have more passengers than drivers. Track time is very limited and time in the pits is time lost on the track. If the day is busy then coming into the pits could mean the marshals won't be able to let you back out. I'm not trying to put folk off, just trying to let people know that it may not be possible to get to ride as much as they may be hoping for. I would like to experience other cars myself but will probably forgo that. I am bringing my 17 & 19 yr old sons and they are hoping to get to ride too.

Signing on is between 08:15 & 09:00 for drivers & passengers.

Safety briefing is at 09:00 followed by several pace car laps.

Then it's foot to the boards.

i was wondering/hoping is it possible to sign on for croft on the morning?
I understand that there are some places left but Croft got a lot of requests yesterday and are expecting more today. Don't forget to tell them you're with the NEPH group and therefore at the discounted rate.

If you have received your letters you will have spotted that there is an exclusive group and that the expert and intermediate groups have been amalgamated to make space for this provision. The exclusive group is NEPH. I asked for this in the early days but was told that I would need 20 or more people to secure it. What this means is that we have the track to ourselves for 6 X 20 min sessions. We also have a dedicated instructor and I suggest we make full use of that. This does mean expert and novice get to share the track so 'be good' won't you.

There are spaces left for this dedicated NEPH group if anyone else would like to join in the fun. Full day, morning only and afternoon only sessions are possible. Morning sign on is 08:15 – 09:00. Afternoon sign on is 12:00 – 12:30. Of course half-day folk can attend the full day and provided they have had their safety brief they will be able to be in the parc ferme area and have passenger rides.

Finally - Bob, how to the organisers justify mixing us all up as a group including the novices (which I am all in favour of btw as I think that provided the day is well policed, then open pit lane makes for the best days), with the standpoint that Novices need their own session.
The MSA have declared that groups must be segregated by capability. This clause is not actually in force until the start of the 2005 season. Our exclusive group is permitted because the MSA allow special events such as manufacturer days and 'one make' days and club events to be multi capability. It means the day will be similar to 'open pit lane' and as anyone that has done track days before will know this is far better.

so with this exclusive group does that mean 6 x 20m slots for the whole day? or is that morning and then open pit in the pm? sorry about the confusion, i've only just got up
6 x 20m slots for the whole day.

Open pit is a thing of the past. You'll only see this at club events and at non-MSA events from 2005 onward.
