Me Again! bought myself an Old Mk2 Escort Mexico Last September to stop myself getting bored over the winter , has been a challenge and a half I can tell you! was in pretty poor condition and have had to strip it right back to a shell and replace/weld up pretty much everything except for the roof!
pics of it the day I collected it, didnt look too bad til I stripped it then![yikes](/inc/images/yikes.gif)

4 months later and 220 hours spent welding and 400 hours squaring up the body and then a nut and bolt full on rebuild after replacing, 2 front wings, both inner wings, front panel, hinge panel, inner hinge panel, inner sill, outer sill , front floor pans, door skins , scuttle panel, bulkhead , screen pillars , wheel arches, inner wheel arches, back panel , inner lower quarter panels, both front chassis rails and one rail front to back, rear spring hangers , Its pretty much finished!
there is a build thread if anyone is interested in having a look over on turbosport , link http://www.turbosport.co.uk/showthread.php?t=45772...

small world, when did you own it?? and what condition was it in back then ? any pics of it ? will drop you a pm ![smile](/inc/images/smile.gif)
I had a bloke came to my house to buy an Audi I was selling 2 month ago and as we got talking I mentioned the Mexico and turns out he owned it around 1978/79 and part exchanged it for an rs2000, he was from redcar, looking at the history it had 3 owners around that area

Bought this earlier in the year, after a succession of modern performance cars boring the life out of me to drive, I was looking for something as a quick road car and decided was going to get a cheap S1 Elise and do a Honda engine conversion, However since I last looked, S1 prices had pretty much doubled ! while looking I got wind of a mint S1 coming up for sale that had already had the conversion done and was exactly what I was after so I saved myself the hassle and bought it.
Since I bought it I have just changed the wheels , fitted some track tyres and swapped the K20 engine for one with a set of Skunk cams and Rbc intake ect dynod at 262bhp. I am an old skool fan so it sits nicely with my other stuff, bit of a 90's theme going on !

Oooh, I'd be very happy to have that CRX road car off you, they're lovely.
Ha Thanks and you are not the first to suggest that , I am a big Honda fan and love the old Crx's and Civics. I really want a Civic SB1 but they are like hens teeth now ! any excuse to post a pic of the Road Rex
