Caffeine and machine new venue...
Discussion
Good news on Ignition - I'm in Market Harborough and a local-ish place like this would be very welcome - I'm not sure where in Rutland it is going to be but hopefully it's no more than 45 minutes away, both Caffeine and Machines are an hour and a quarter away realistically with traffic.
Looks like Ignition will be a monthly meet only initially, hopefully that'll increase to at least something happening every weekend.

Hey guys, visited the piston club yesterday and then caffeine and machine after which was 15 minutes away. I have to say I give the piston club 10/10 for lay out and enthusiastic staff. I definitely will be supporting that venue.
But oh dear, visited the new caffeine and machine (the bowl today. A completely different kind of caffeine and machine, I have to give it a 1/10. Won't go into to much detail, but it lacks the charm and professional staff of the original. There was a list of things I could give but I won't on here. Travelling for 2 hours to only stay for 10 minutes and to leave without even having the ability to have food there was the icing on the cake for us. Nothing to do with it being new either. I would give this place 1/10.
I had the feeling lightning would not strike twice, and it has not imo.
Just how I feel guys, and I am a big fan of the brand.

That’s a shame but as per the other poster some details would be helpful. But oh dear, visited the new caffeine and machine (the bowl today. I’ve always liked the vibe at Ettington; it’s often far from perfect with long waits for food when busy but I still enjoy visiting.
Have you mentioned anything to C&M about the experience?

I think you need to share more to this, otherwise travelling 2 hours to stay 10 minutes seems a bit odd. I’m not sure you can judge any place in 10 minutes…But oh dear, visited the new caffeine and machine (the bowl today. A completely different kind of caffeine and machine, I have to give it a 1/10. I'd appreciate the gory details as I'm local and was looking forward to popping down.
Me too please. I’ve been away since it opened but eager to drop in when I’m back next week. Is it a case of employing non petrolheads? New staff? Anywhere new needs to become established I guess and it’s always going to be hard initially to live up to ‘the original’ but eager to know your thoughts in more detail.
I used to absolutely love the Ettington site, but I also feel that's starting to lose it's charm too, there's never any interesting cars anymore, it's mainly MX5, M140i, tuned slammed Golfs and Audis.
Maybe they make more money from those people as they stay longer and buy food etc, in which case fair enough.
But the last few times I've been I've missed seeing the odd F12 or 812 etc.

The google reviews are also horrendous of the new site.
So I was not the only one ey Such a shame. I refuse to go into details of my own experiences on a Forum. To much potential for bull siht arguments imo. However anyone who has read this thread will know I am a fan and regular of C&M and the brand as well as an advocate for other establishments that cater for both cars and motorbikes. The last point about motorcycles. The ground at the bowl is absolutely not motorcycle friendly. As was stated in one of the Google reviews.

I read through the reviews and the gravel for bikes sounds terrible, and the car park at the rear/no view/typical pub doesn’t sound good. I like The Hill and the ability to people/car watch. That’s missing straight away by the sound of it.
With The Sharnbrook meets gone I’d have thought this might have done well. I may leave it a few months before visiting now.
Some of that sounds like it’s easily fixed - get the kitchen up to speed and extend & resurface the car park.
What’s harder to see how it’ll change is the flat site. The Hill works so well because of the terrain with parking spots, benches and tents overlooking the entrance, and the woodland parking behind the big tent, but from google maps this looks dull by comparison.
