Some website review of Cookie Club said:

A bit like having your end of term party in someone else's house: you can get pissed-up on cider and make a tit of your self without having to worry about cleaning the carpet in the morning. Small and pretty dingy, The Cookie Club doesn't hold much appeal for the rsiing ranks of Nottingham's elitist bar dwellers, but it manages to just about get by without them, thanks all the same.

DressCode None
Clientele mainly students

That'll do

just had a look at the website you quoted - it is a review of the old venue (it says it's on pelham street and it is now on st james street) but apart from the size aspect it's still all pretty much accurate!

I'm down near the Tax Offices at work, but might drop down for a pint before me cocoa

If we are eating out then should we meet a little bit earlier? La Tasca does not take reservations so the wait could be at least an hour on a Saturday night. I could happily make 8pm if that helps. Perhaps we could meet at La Tasca instead of by the lions, if that is easier for people?

The Cookie Club was on Pelham Street last time I went. It was about the size of my front room, and that's not saying much I imagine that it is still a student patronized hole where sticking to the carpet is obligatory.

I am happy to go with the flow. I am always happy to go to La Tasca (favourite haunt) and of course a pub crawl is never a bad thing. I love dancing, but rarely get a chance to do any these days. Last club I went to in Nottingham was like a freaking wedding reception. Depressing wasn't the word. That was next door to the new Cookie Club. My boyfriend even got heckled by the DJ - and it wasn't for his dancing either! It was a lewd comment related to the fact that he was with three women (two of them French ).

Atomic was excellent when I went four years ago, but a friend of mine went earlier this year and said it was shite. She knows her clubs and music too!

Looking forward to our big night out

Can we agree and confirm the details by mid-week please? 8.30pm by the lions? or food somewhere earlier that we can get booked in advance? if so, numbers please?

Suggestions on a post card.

Thanks,

Wozza.

As I said before, if we go for food at La Tasca, meet there at 8pm (an hour's wait is almost certain) or if we don't eat out, 8.30pm by the lions.

I would be happy to go along with the majority vote. A meal would be nice though as it may give us all a better chance to chat rather than jostling for room in loads of bars. We can do that after we've eaten

OK, La Tasca at 8pm, if we get in easily enough, no problem, if it is too busy, we just make it up from there onwards.

For anyone who's never been to La Tasca before and doesn't know where it is there is a map on their website and it's just around the corner from my offices!

I've just phoned La Tasca and they tell me that they do reservations for groups. There are two sittings, 7.30pm and 9.30pm. The time restriction for each sitting is two hours. With this option we would have to have a set mennu, priced at £14.95 per head. It is a three course menu:

first course - olives and bread
second course - salad, cold meats and cheese
third course - a selection of hot tapas

If you want me to book I can do. They advise booking no later than Thursday. Also, are there any veggies? Hope not because the Spanish aren't exactly a great nation of vegetarians

the vegetarian selection is very good, it is one of our favorite places for the veggies amoung us, and if you are a fish eating veggie, then even beter.
