I can't recall which forum it was in but a few weeks ago, immediately after the Le Mans jaunt, BG mentioned the idea of taking a Double Decker Bus next year.

Having foregone the pleasure of Sunday at Donington to trawl the Silverstone infield in the hope of finding something suitable in a 'unique and cherished' sort of way I think I may have found it. Or, rather, them.

The double decker idea may required a modicum of extra effort to achieve the desired configuration but I certain it should result in a unique and eye catching vehicle that will have others gasping.

Here are the photographic plates I managed to acquire secretly and, so far as I can tell, without arousing suspicions.

Note that the camping option is still available as part of the development. Indeed it may be compulsory.

The Upper Deck.

Development work is complete but final uplift and fitting would be required. Current configuration retains the potential for keeping a single deck option for travelling in order to avoid places with height restrictions. Pick-a-Back mounting on arrival as site should be easy to develop. It may be possible to temporarily cannibalise the hood mechanism from raf dug's SAAB to provide an automated lift since too much physical effort could interfere with serious enjoyment on arrival.

I suggest we keep this plan secret - it would not do for the other groups to get wind of the concept in case they all want one which might inflate the price.

Naturally a Gentleman 'on tour' would hope and expect some suitable personal transport to accompany the accomodation and be available for trips to the local emporia for the purpose of refreshing supplies of various important comestibles.

This seemed appropriate for BG, being a suitable colour.

This, on the other hand, should satisfy any midland PH'rs with a yearning for soft tops and comes with a colour scheme that, uniquely, closely matches that of the motorhotel. (Or at least the ground floor.)

For those lacking the time to journey south by land and sea alternative travel can be arranged in both open top 2 seat accomodation and coupe for with space for 2 passengers as well as the chauffeur. (Please note luggage space may be a little resticted. But then a number of you will already be familiar with such constraints.)

Here's an alternative. Not a double decker but you never know who might have been in it ...

Some nice touches of humour in the full description.
