Date: Tuesday evening 16th December 2008.
Venue: Anoki (formerly Mumbai Blue) A38 Burton Road, Egginton, DE65 6GZ.
Food: Set Christmas Party Menu (Indian restaurant) £26.95 per person.

Myself, Fort Jefferson, Polarbert, Plasticpig & chassis33 have just had a meal here this evening, and can report as follows.

Big car park.
Easy to get to.
Spacious clean interior.
Very posh loos.
Immaculately presented staff in costume.
Cutlery, crockery, table linen as clean as you could wish for.
Good service.
Good food.
All you can eat, they will keep bringing it until you are sated.

If you are definitely going to come, add your name down on the list and cut & paste.

Edited to add:

One significant thing about this venue is well worth mentioning though, by way of warning. Turning into it off the A38 can be fairly hazardous, due to the speed of following traffic on the A38. From Derby, take the A38 towards Burton upon Trent, go under the A50 near Toyota, pass the next exit which is for Willington/Egginton (and has a petrol station and a diner on the corner). Anoki is a little bit further on, on the left, with a sharp 90 degree turn off the A38 into their drive. It is like turning into a normal residential driveway at motorway speeds, so you need to keep an eye on what's behind you, as well as looking out for the turning. If you miss it, carry onto the Clay Mills exit for Burton, turn right at the end of the slip to go over the A38 and come back on yourself, then take the next exit heading back towards Derby, which is the Willington/Egginton exit, over the top of the A38 again, and have another go smile

Thanks to whoever made this a sticky, without me even having to ask thumbup

Numbers up to about 20 so far, I have made the booking, leaving it open to add more.

There was mention of a tenner deposit per person, but they've not asked for it, if they do, I will bung it on a card (so if you drop out, you owe me a tenner!).

I have updated them with numbers a couple of times, they don't want a deposit.

Just come off the phone to them, I have told them that we have 26, possibly 27, but that 2 or 3 may not be definite. All OK.

Table booked for 8pm.

I called in at Anoki this lunchtime and put the numbers up to between 28 - 30, some have since dropped out, but it won't trouble them.

Note: It is a fixed price meal, so the food bill will be split evenly between us. Drinks will be strictly to your own account, so those having just a couple of cokes won't be subsidising those who have several Cobras.

See you later folks, I will be there between 7.00 - 7.30pm.

Liz is driving, so I intend to get merry, apologies in advance if I get too verbose as a result hehe
