Caring With Cars 2012 - Meetings on route

As per the previous year, some of us will be meeting up before heading to the venue for Caring With Cars 2012. The event is being held on Sunday 20th May. please see the website for more information regarding the event http://www.caringwithcars.com/

Please note that attendance is limited to the 500 allocated spaces agreed on the Ph calendar. We will aim to arrive at approx 10.30am.

Doubtlessly V8S will confirm this, but there isn't much parking round the entrance.
The B3128 is also a busy road, so little chance of parking on the roadside iirc
Might be worth finding a parking spot a little way off if attending as a passenger.

Dont worry, wessexrfc will get in, one way or another.

If you remember last year some of the marshalls parked up on the grass strip to the right near the gates, well within the grounds, a bit tight but safer than outside somewhere.

To be honest with 500 attendee's, i reckon about 30 will drop out at least as we get along, so add yourself to the reserves and you should be OK

I have to say that if your name isn't on the main list on the day then we will have to turn you around and out of the grounds altogether.

We won't be able to allow parking on the entrance drive, roads or verges at any point unless you have been asked to do so by a marshall. Please remember that this is the access area for the hospice and ambulances as well as privately owned land that we are very fortunate to be able to use.

Apart from the logistics and security, the reason that numbers are limited is because we have to provide loos, ambulance cover, insurance, risk assessments, fire safety, etc, etc. per head. I know it's a pain, but we have to be quite strict on this to keep the event running.

I'd say that if your name isn't on the main list by 8am on the morning then please don't try to come on the off chance. We can't guarantee to be able to run a 1 out, 1 in policy in the morning and we won't be able to queue people up waiting due to access restrictions. If you do try to chance it then I'd say at least wait until the afternoon but again, there won't be any guarantees of entry.

Not a problem. We were going to make a statement about this anyway.

It's a fairly tricky location to manage and we now have enough cars coming that we have to be a fairly rigid in our planning. The event takes a surprising amount of effort (and money) to put on.

Hopefully everyone coming will understand and more importantly, give loads of money to the charity.
