Dear All,

If you are planning on coming to Fleet from Chippenham, might I suggest leave the M4 at J13, head down the A34 and off at the first exit, thru Newbury and then take the A road to Basingstoke but beware of the Truvelo speed cameras about a mile before the outskirts of Basingstoke.
Take the Basingstoke ring road around to the M3 then it's towards London for about 10 miles to Fleet services.

Regards,

VHR
Am I finally going to see your car then!!!

Good to meet you guys - a bit chilly on the way down, but once we started with the roof off, we couldn't give in could we!

Thanks Derek (K50DEL) for getting the Chippenham bit all together.

Nice to meet you guys!

I was the one with the red fto and black wheels

The drive there was great fun, I can't wait for the next VW meet or PH meet in the SW area

I'll throw my hat into the ring and agree that it was a great day - good fun on the way down (that Noble's a piece of kit)
Fantastic array of metal at VW, far more than the 260 listed in the official thread
Good journey home as well, although I needed new trousers after having an old duffer fail to even look as he emerged from a side road to pootle straight across my path and down the road opposite, he was looming very large at 70mph!!

Thanks again all, see you on the mendip run

S##t me mate! I was 30 yards behind you as we shot out of Devizes at...err yea 60mph, (dual carriage way wasnt it?) I could see that car approaching the junction & thinking he has seen us, he will stop...hes gonna stop...surely...OH SH#t! What was he/she thinking! Unbelievable how he didnt see us & stop, thats what causes accidents, not speed. Well done Del you did well mate...

A good day had by all...but who lost it in the FTO leaving the car park?!?

Lost it leaving a car park, in a front wheel drive car? I won't ask!

Those FTOs sound great by the way.

I didn't get to meet any of the SWers but I did see your car park (spotted K50DEL )

If you saw a dirty black Merc parked right by the toilets that was me . But hey, at least I didn't have to pay!

P.S. Did you know the yellow viper is local? It came by me on the A417 around Cirencester; a female driving I think .

cheers SW-ers, maybe catch you another time.

Oh mate, it was greasey, going left & right, i didnt see much to be fair as it happened behind the cars stopped at the lights, i just saw your roof go around the corner, then around abit more, then a bit more until you were back facing the pub! No damage, not even a scuffed alloy!

It has to be Dels near miss that did it for me though, one of those moments your looking ahead at the road assuming that as we have right of way the car cutting across will stop, hes driving like he has seen you approaching, you ease off a little, still plenty of time to react, then right at the last second he pulls out!

Oh & Alex, your little slide on the corner was cool aswell, seems everything happened right infront of me yesterday!
