Might need to start the run a little earlier than 5pm, as usually we get to the pub as the kitchen is not far off closing. I'll give them a call tomorrow and check.
Any update on this Sandy?

Sorry guys it's been a manic week.

I've spoken to the pub today and I've been told that they have been closing on a Sunday evening recently.
The landlady is going to give me a call back tomorrow to let me know if they will be open or not next Sunday.
If they aren't going to be open, I'll have a drive around the area after work and look for something suitable.

If you are looking for an end venue not far from the pub on the A38 that was used in the past, how about here? The car park is spot on.

Turn right at the lights at the second Thornbury junction, it's two minutes away. Not been in there for ages, but it always used to be a nice boozer selling decent grub and I'm sure it's been used as a meet before. smile

Yeah we went there after one of the early runs, but we haven't been back for a few reasons.
They weren't overly happy about us taking over the car park
We had to place all food orders in advance
and they tried saying that people had left without paying.

Ah ok, but I think it's changed hands since then as I remember it was closed for a while, so might be worth another punt.

Or the Ship???

According to their website the windmill serves food until 9:30

No idea about the Ship... it doesn't have a website which isn't surprising as it hasn't left the 1970s.

I wouldn't do the Windmill, I think it's changed hands and the food is terrible now, shame as it used to be good and the refit is great. My last meal there cost me a night on the bog (and two others in our party of eight).

That last comment 'it hasn't left the 1970's' nearly made me choke on my toast! Just made me laugh. Thank you!!
