Anyway, a great day and a great charity (I lost my nan to a stroke 2 weeks ago)
Thank you for your support Karl and I can see why it meant something special to you.

Neil Garner was extremely helpful in not only driving but bringing several of his customers along to drive and even fixing the Ferrari 250GT Lusso when it developed a small problem early on! Top bloke and he can drive a bit too smile

I have to say that was a really good day!
Thanks Alan, glad you enjoyed yourself and hope you remember you were part of making it happen! Please spend the next 12 months telling people about the event and bring all your mates next year. We really need people who understand and appreciate cars and see the value in such a diverse entry of cars out on track.

I managed to escape to Castle Combe for a couple of hours and thoroughly enjoyed it - top marks to the organisers and all those who gave up their time and the use of their fabulous cars to support a very worthy charity.
Hope you managed to get a ride in something special Alan and thanks for supporting the event this year. Please come back next year with reinforcements!

I have never in my time marvelled at the abilities of, or been so completely traumatised in a car as I was in this. At one point I think it bent the fabric of space and allowed us to travel faster than light.
Radicals aside. That car is a ####ing space ship.
By Jove, I think you've discovered the whole idea of the event smile Several people who had a ride in Mark Rawlins' BGT V8 monster actually came back for a second ride, presumably because their brain could not compute first time round! Like yourself, I'm in awe of Mark's driving and engineering skill but most of all for his generosity in running this incredible car in support of the event. I will pass your terrific feedback on to him on your behalf.

Thanks for your support and please come back next year!

I had a great day today, I hope the passengers I took out had good fun.
They certainly did Jim and many thanks for making the long journey and keeping the car running as long as possible. You know what? Not one single person queried why we invited a Mini, your Mini, to an event called Supercar Saturday! I reckon you proved your point to everyone present.

We will set up a YouTube channel and also a place to collect images in the next few days, to help with promoting the event more widely next year.

Thanks again and great job Jim.

Well must say I had a brilliant time. Hope everyone enjoyed their passenger rides with me as much as I did driving !
If you could see their faces as they emerge from the garage and take off their helmet, you would see exactly how much people enjoy this experience!

I'm glad you enjoyed it too and we do indeed look forward to seeing you next year.

I had a cracking time too. Absolutely zonked now. Must have done 50 or 60 laps.
Not suprising Ted, that's close on 120 miles of flat out driving in tough weather conditions!

It was great to have you along with such a fantastic car and we thoroughly appreciate your support, thank you. We look forward to welcoming you back next year!

The evo 4 from fcm motorsport was driven by John the owner of fcm
The car is now owned by a good friend of mine you may of also noticed his r33 skyline under the fcm gazebo
John was running on low boost all day at 1.7 bar but on high boost its 2.2bar running over 500bhp

Does anybody have any video's from the day at coombe

It's no exaggeration to say that Matt is our most generous 'customer', our biggest supporter and has even worked behind the scenes to fix us up with more cars and drivers. Appreciate your support Matt.

I also happen to think he makes some wise picks from the car list - can't imagine the opportunity to get a ride in a Ferrari 250GT with an International Race Licence holder is going to come up very often! We also graft away quite a bit to line up some Star Drivers and Matt gets it that it's not just the car, it's the car plus driver.

Thank you Matt, we need more like you!

We're really glad you decided to come along when you weren't all that sure beforehand smile Pleased you enjoyed not just the track action but the Autosolo too - I bet you never thought traffic cones could be so much fun eh? This is defintely the best use ever thought up for them!

We've got about 1.5h of in-car on a GoPro and the intention is to create a YouTube channel to stash this and whatever else other folks have. Also a place to collect stills. Might take a few days to get to is all.

We got there late(bloody work) so missed going out in a drift session by seconds two guys just got in before us,we went out in a caternam which was a eye opener due to how much grip there wasn't even with slight drizzle although the guy did say the tyres were superb in the dry which once the track dried a little the differance was noticable a great ride my son went out in the same car came back full of smiles although the tank slapper on exit of Quarry put his heart in his mouth lol

Could this event be held slightly earlier in the year? I'm pretty sure if it there was a slight less chance of wind and rain you may well get more people attending. (Ignoring the fact Combe seems to have its own weather system at times).
Also at the beginning of the month would be good...the last 2yrs have beeb days before pay day and I've not had the money to make it out for a ride on the track.

I've got some pictures from the later afternoon sessions from Quarry so will post some up once I get a chance to go through them.

The 250GT Lusso was achingly beautiful - and it was certainly being used with some enthusiasm! A car that is worth well over 1/2-million quid being used as Enzo intended - just fantastic.
Aside from the 250GT, there was an eclectic mix of machinery out on the circuit. The V12 Vantage sounded very nice!
Thankfully the rain eased about lunchtime and the circuit gradually dried out, prompting some higher speeds too.
Well done to you all!

Awww Shucks!

No, thankyou...I look forward to this event every year and if there is anything I can do to help, I will

Next year, how about a dedicated Facebook page that we can all then link and share round friends+ family?

Weekly updates with new cars/ drivers/etc?

I made my 71 year old dad go out in the Neil Garner Chimera GT racecar as a contrast to the suave and smooth V12 Vantage piloted by Simon Tilling.... He got out deaf and gibbering!!!! Result - this is now an annual event for me and my prime method of giving to charity...
https://www.facebook.com/media/set/?set=a.10151951... Here are some pics from the day - properly eclectic mix and the Ferrari 250 GT Lusso was fabulous...

Oh, I drove my car in the autotest and beat the Stig in the Atom smile

Jimster - if you were driving the yellow classic mini, I was the 6'5" Leviathan that squeezed in to be slid around by you in the early rain.... Epic drive!! I always recommend anyone to go in the minis as they are such a rush and probably the biggest expectation destroyer!!

Hi Matt, good to meet you yesterday mate, thanks for the loan of the car it was good fun putting it round the course! You also sat in on the fastest lap recorded on the day too...

On behalf of Bristol Motor Club we'd like to thank you all for supporting us yesterday, I was absolutely dead by the time I got home but all the money raised and smiles around yesterday made it all so worthwhile. We will be back for sure next year.

Cheers

Dave
Hi Dave, Thanks for a fantastic experience!! I was the guy in that BMW diesel estate... Wish I could have hung around and had more rides with you - and I think there could have been an epic battle of the unsuitable cars with my mate in the Alfa 159 who wouldn't let it lie!!! I wonder what time I could have done later in the dry.... See you next year!!
