South west Breakfast club AV8 cafe
Discussion
I meet with the management of the Kemble airport this afternoon and they are very keen to have us back. They will make the car park to the front of the AV8 cafe exclusively for our use and I propose that we stick to the last Sunday of the month which is the 27th May meeting at 9:30.
There are a number of other things that they will do for us. Firstly photography locations. I had a tour of the airfield and there are some fantastic locations such as underneath a 1960s 747. The cars would look great there. If anyone is interested that could be arranged.
They have also offered to show the British Grand prix, they have a large tv projector for this and if we can get enough people we can get a barbecue for that as well.
Finally a number of F1 teams test there, Force India are testing on 17th May anyone who is interested can go and watch. Apparently this happens every month with different teams !
If anyone is interested in the above events maybe we can chat on 27th May

Just a quick reminder for those who might like to watch. Force India are testing at Kemle this Thursday. I understand they are there all day and the best place to watch is from the cafe. I can't go my self, have to work, but would be interested to know what it was like if anyone goes.

Haven't eaten meat in nearly 20 years, not gonna start now.
Sadly it looks like sailing weather is perfect this weekend, but might come next time in something interesting.

I hope that the AV8 is OK. I was there yesterday and was left unimpressed. The refurb comprised repainting the walls the same colour, removing the airplane pictures and putting a new light over the counter. TBH we could not see what was different had had to ask the staff what they had done. At 11.30 they had stopped doing breakfast and were not doing lunches until 12.00 and then all they had to offer was a pork roast or baguettes. They were very dis-organised and then the staff gave the impression that they were clueless. As we were waiting for the fog to clear we had a baguette but the table was dirty and there were clearly months of crumbs in the cracks in the table top. In the 3/4 hour we were there a number of people came in to eat, thought better of it and left. I hope this was a glitch, as before it was always pretty good.
Let's see with an open mind if they are not up to scratch or not welcoming I have plan B !!!Gassing Station | South West | Top of Page | What's New | My Stuff
