The South's 100 Greatest.....

Black Dog in Waltham Chase still does pretty good food and not bad prices too. They have put a decking area outside now which will be great when the sun starts shining
.
The Chase Inn (about a mile further towards Bishops Waltham) has excellant food and a reasonable sized car park!
Another pub not far from there is the Brickmakers in Swanmore. Just been refurbished and extended. Food pretty good and not a bad pint of Ringwood in there either
For Indian, anyone tried the one next to Swanwick Station near Park Gate. Used to be really good but not been for a while.
All this talk is making me feel hungry, best go and find the vending machine!!

Not been for a while but remember this being very good when I used to go there. Excellent service too.
Must go back soon.
I think I'll try the Brickmakers this week, not been there before and fancy finding a few new spots.
Ringwood 49er and Old Thumper are the best

Would give Titchfield a miss Cuzza - looks very pretty but a lot of scumbags around. A night at the coach and horses will be a good example of that. The Bugle isnt much better.
The pub the other side of the road isnt bad - is it the Queens Head? but the pick of the bunch is the wheatsheaf around the corner - really cool old fashionned low ceiling pub with corking beers.
the curry house down by the station is very good still. service and food fantastic - just dont look in their kitchens![](http://www.pistonheads.com/include/images/eek.gif)

Could this be a place for a few local PH'ers to meet for a meal and a chin wag sometime?

The Italian in Botley...
Last week I had a advocado and cheese starter that was truly awesome and veal with breadcrumbs and a very spicey mashed potato with it. Lovely.
Ooh that sounds really tasty! Suddenly my dinner this evening doesn't look very appetizing!

.Mark...don't forget to let us know when you are up for the Chinese in Shoreham, if only for the convivial company!

Does it?
I still think of it as the Vets - and then the Horse and Jockey. May try it out again.
The La Parisenne meets died out as I think Julian sold his car, or gave his share to his Dad. I know the last one was me, Shnozz and a couple of others. I didn't take it over as I had just landed another role.

It also wasn't really worth getting the car out of the garage, although the run to Wellow via Whiteparish was fun. I got a lift with Julian, as I had brought the Alvis down.
THE SUSSEX BREWERY
Took a drive out yesterday along all the back roads from Fareham through Bosham (at low tide!) and on to Chichester.
On the A259 at Emsworth is a pub called The Sussex Brewery. Real Ales and best of all 45 DIFFERNT SAUSAGES ON THE MENU!
We ordered the European suasage plater for 2 so got a varity to try. Meal included more mash potato and veg than we could eat as well a couple of drinks and bill came in at £20 inc tip.
Bar is genuinly old and has sawdust floor. Also 2 non smoking resturaunt areas and just about enough off road parking.
I'll be going back, at least 45 times!

Try the Lone barn/Fox and Hounds in Hungerford bottom/Old Burseldon.
Great place![]()
Was in the Jolly Sailor in Old Bursledon last night too - First time since it's refit... it's a much better place now!!!

Your the first person i've heard go there since it's re-fit. Normaly end up going there b by boat as parcking is at a bit of a premium on nice days. Since it has the mungo seal of approval, i'll go and give a bash.
