Avon causeway is open now though, you could cut down from Ringwood and accross there which would avoid Matchams lane.....

Mind you what the hell did they do for a few months on the Causeway, fine they did the bridge, put in completely unnecessary pinch points, the road surface is also still hurrendous!

Cowboys!

Agree with that ... still don't know why they didn't sort out the road width while they were at it.

The length of the closure period for what is the main arterial route in/out of the Bournemouth & Poole area is nothing short of disgraceful.

Without dwelling too long on the stage managed escapades of the Top Gear team, a properly supported Road Razer can tear up a carriageway at around walking pace. Likewise the Rollers, Paver and Chip Spreader can also operate at a similar pace.

So - with that in mind, and given the essential nature of the route, can anyone explain why it is estimated to take six weeks to replace less than a mile of dual carriageway?? My father spent the best years of his life working for a company which manufactured the road building machinery listed above, and he can't comprehend it either...

Its easy. One word - incompetence.

Drove through today twice morning and afternoon. Not one workman to be seen.

BTW why does the 40 limit extend so far when heading south?
