So is anyone from here planning on going along to this.

The roads down that way are pretty awesome driving roads. Was thinking we could get a group together for a drive down. Its about 80miles from Portsmouth and AA route planner says about 1hour 45mins driving time. Would be a good excuse for a drive and hopefully the weather may be decent by then. What do people think.

Nice one John. I have emailed a few guys i know that arent members on here as well as a few that are so should be able to get a decent group together. There is also a thread on the Surrey/Thames Valley Forum which i have added a post to. Thought if we could get a good group from here organised we could meet those guys on the way. Should be an impressive convoy when we arrive. If there is a decent amount of interest i will start a list and come up with a plan re meet times and location etc.

Right then as there seems to be a fair bit of interest i am going to start a list. I am in contact with the Surrey/Thames Valley group re the possibilty of meeting up with them on route and i was thinking the following. If we all meet at the Westbound Rownhams Services (M27/M3) junction and then go up through the back roads to Salisbury we can met them there for the drive down to Yeovil. If anyone has any better ideas let me know. Will leave meet times unitl nearer the date. Feel free to amend the following if i have got anything wrong.

Nice to see you have added your name to the list Zed. Seeing as you live down that way do you have any recomendations on what roads would be good for getting there. Im thinking possibly going up to Salisbury on the A36 then working our way along from there along the A30. Or poss going along to Verwood up the B3081 and up to Shaftsbury then along the A30. Any suggestions anyone???

Ironic seeing as you have your engine are you planning on coming now then?? or is it likely it wont be fitted by then??

Will do Milfman. Going to probably still meet at Rownhams but i live in Southsea so could meet you at the Shell garage at the top of the Eastern Road if thats good for you, or the Shell garage on Mile End Road at the bottom of the M275. Going to need to top up anyway. We could then drive on from there. Still havent decided on a route or a time of departure yet!!

You dont happen to live in Eastfield Road do you as there is always a C4 parked down my road. Cant be that many in Portsmouth/Southsea??

Milfman I will meet you at the Shell at the bottom of the M275 at 07.45 in that case. We will have plenty of time to get down to Rownhams for 08.15.

Swanny/Dubkiller. I dont really know the A36 that well so if you suggest a place to meet you will see you there.

Zed Shall we met you at the top of junction 2 at about 08.30 to save you having to go all the way down past Rownhams to come back on yourself.

Guys this is all stating to look very gloomy. I have just found out i have to do a night shift on Sat so wont be finishing in Portsmouth until 06.00am. I went to the VW meet last month with no sleep but decided then it probably wasnt a good idea. Doesnt look like i will be making a showing as a result. There should still be a decent group though so i hope you all have fun. Jim
