There's a scientology place in town, that kind of thing?
Have you been up north before?
I live here, and it's a work thing. Seriously, do these things only exist in London or whatHave you been up north before?

There isn't really anywhere in a similar vein. There is discussion about one opening in The Gotham Hotel, but that looks a bit like a fancy night club.
What is you are specifically looking for? What London club would you like to replicate?
Edited: just realised you referenced the Eight Club. All I can say is I have been looking for years and haven't found anywhere.

ah thanks, yea i just saw club brass at gotham. It's certainly a lot cheaper than some of the london places (about half the annual fees of the eight club), but there is very little detail available. From the above description that it's a bit like a nightclub... that reminds me of the horrendous circle club that I went to a couple of times. Maybe in the same vein as that Milton place on deansgate i.e. soon to be shut down after a massive brawl. The opposite of what i was after!
Otherwise, it turns out there is some kind of club at media city but that's miles out of town. Also a stuffy old man place called the st james' club near kendals i think. Already a member at David Lloyd as it's a health club primarily, but they have no city centre location now!
Northern powerhouse and all that, i guess it's only a matter of time before we get our own soho house..... maybe.

Try the Milton Club on Deansgate near Spinningfields. I think it's free to be a member but you do need to join to get in.
That's not really the same.I think he is looking for somewhere that is open during the day as well as at night and has areas in which you can work as well as eat and drink.
London has quite a few places and I can't think of anywhere in Manchester.

it does have membership, but i think it's basically inherited the mantle of circle club for the "twenty-something champagne on credit card, my mate has his GTR parked outside on double yellows, what you talkin bout i'll smash your teeth down your throat" collective. Was thinking the other type of members club!

I think you are pissing in the wind unfortunately. I use a places in London frequently as they are perfect for a variety of reasons. Was thinking the other type of members club!
The restaurant I used to use that had a decent bar and private room is now closed so I just make it up as I go along now.
The Midland Hotel ground floor can do a job for a day but it isn't the same. My main office in in Cheshire and I just don't have the need for a proper place in Manchester anymore.
