PistonHeads Cottage Loaf Meet, Wirral 2011
Discussion
Good evening all,
PistonHeads Cottage Loaf Meet, Wirral 2011 - Tuesday 21st June
It was around about this time last year that I started the Cottage Loaf 2010 Meet and began to encourage some interest in the annual event/meet. Previously we have held 2 events, the most recent having twice the turnout as the original, but this year I hope we can better this yet!
For those whom are interested, I'm looking to settle a date around late June early July. We will have access to the car park and pub and there are adequate amounts of parking spaces that we can use. Please see the attached map/link for directions.

I haven't seen the likes of E345, Kecky and Beeznitch etc around the boards recently, if anyone can get in touch?
Cheers, lets get this one going!

Are we thinking of a weeknight again? If so any week night in that period would suit me. I'll be bringing some fresh meat along with me, djtimodj in his 600bhp 350z and my mate Dan in his Mustang GT convertible.
Yes, a week night would be preferred, however we'll try and miss the quiz night! We should all turn up for the Mazda meet that happens on the first Thursday of every month Beeznitch said:
I'm sure we could choose another evening so Benny can make it seeing as he is one of the most active members of the NW forum (and he likes American cars of course)
Agreed. Ben, would you be able to contact Mike and also the small Yorkshire man (don't tell him I said that) and forgive me for forgetting his name!benny.c said:
Awww shucks, you guys are too good to me Monday, Tuesday or Wed of that week is fine. Will have a word with Pete (originally from Huyton BTW, not Yorkshire - he must have been working in Bolton too long!).
Going to pick this old warrior up with MIke next week so I'm sure he'll want to bring it along.
Oops! Re-scheduled Tuesday 21st June, avoiding Wednesday as it is quiz night.Going to pick this old warrior up with MIke next week so I'm sure he'll want to bring it along.
That certainly is a beast, sadly the mini has only deteriorated since the last meet!

Just spoken with Tony who is too lazy to post on here and he's going to bring the Tiger down.
Cheers Ben! Only 9 days until the meet, lets see if we can encourage more of a turnout. I'll speak to Mike the manager and see if he can provide plates of 'take-out' chips and/or burgers for little expense. Cheers jamesc69 said:
Sorry guys, i'm not that local. Has the venue been changed? Wirral 100 or Cottage Loaf Pub?
cheers
James
Hi James, cheers
James
The venue hasn't changed. We're still meeting at the Cottage Loaf pub, just the guys are meeting at the Wirral 100 and then making their way down to the Cottage Loaf in convoy.
See you there,
Tom

plenty of space and the pub has plenty of beer
The big question, is whether Tom will get his mini back in one piece by tomorrow night, or will he be arriving in the truck
Andrew, I'm soaked through to my boxer shorts! I'll be in the mini, cow muck and dirt free! The big question, is whether Tom will get his mini back in one piece by tomorrow night, or will he be arriving in the truck
Does anybody know the sun dance?
Hi,
Thank you for a great turnout. It was a really good meet, its a shame about the weather, but thanks to all who turned up despite this! I'm thinking about making the meet more than just an annual occasion, maybe a couple of times a year and also the possibility of making it a charitable event.
Anyway, here's the good stuff you wanted to see!

Tom, seeing as everyone got on really well and a few people mentioned meeting more often, how about monthly?
Get people to pick the one day out of seven that would be best for everyone, then make it a date for 12 months or so. Eg 'the first Thursday of each month' and make it informal so that whoever happens to be free on that day turns up for a chat and a drink.
Then you could aim for one big mid summer/Christmas meet where we try and do something charitable (have the meet at Claire House childrens hospice? Or something along those lines?)
Also, how about we plan a decent driving route round the Wirral, say 10-15 miles, so that when we meet up and the weather's nice, we could go for a spin in convoy (eg New Brighton prom, West Kirby boating Lake, plenty of good roads cutting across the middle around Thornton Hough/Barnstondale etc)?
That's a good idea, but I feel as though we just wont get the numbers. I'd be more than happy to start doing so if we encouraged more interest? Not just the PH forums, but other forums, friends and friends of friends etc.Get people to pick the one day out of seven that would be best for everyone, then make it a date for 12 months or so. I hope you all enjoyed the meet, how about a winter meet later this year? We could get all festive and do something around christmas!
