What time and route is the convoy taking for the mentioned Derby detour? I would like to tag along too if I may.

Not sure about the route to Derby at the moment, however the current plan is to meet at the Esso station in Mackworth around 12:30.

You could come off at J36, divert around the edge of Sheffield and take the A61 towards Chesterfield then the A38 to Derby. In all honesty, thats probably not a sensible route, but it does mean I can wave at you all as you drive past on your way to a weekend of fun..

It would be easier and quicker for you all to carry on down the M1 to J28 and head into Derby that way..

If the whole convoy is planning on coming through, what? 19 cars? The busy Esso station isnt going to be big enough. The McDonalds car park will also be packed too on a Friday lunchtime, I usually avoid that particular outlet. What about Markeaton Park next door, the entrance is off the same roundabout and the car park is huge.

If you are coming into Derby from the M1 on the A38, when you hit the Esso/McDonalds roundabout you just go all the way around as if you were going back the way you came on the A38 and take the little exit off the roundabout into the Park (its after the Ashbourne exit, but before the A38 heading back to the M1).

Just a suggestion.

Yes, the banana should back tomorrow night.

New O2 sensors should hopefully cure all ailments....especially my stress levels!

Oh poo, according to several forecasts the weather at the weekend is going to be similar to today, miserable with showers.

With this in mind, what is the general consensus on the route down to Stratford? Originally I had thought about taking the scenic route across the Peaks and getting onto the motorway at Derby. The weather forecast for Friday suggests it is going to rain, so I'm not sure how much fun the Bleaks...erm Peaks will be. My current thoughts are to suggest we stay on the M1 from Woolley, this will reduce the total travel time, or to put it another way increase drinking time, by about an hour!.

Thoughts everyone?

Lets take the scenic route, the forecast is for showers, I don't think it will pistonfest down.
Our tent is still wet from Glastonbury , but we have managed to remove the mud etc.

With a new oil pressure sensor, I'm happy giving the car some welly again Twisties for me - I have managed roof off motoring all day today I think 54 hours drinking time is sufficient, I don't need that extra hour
