And a ride in the quickest car I think I have ever been in. Thank you Richard. I have been in some seriously quick cars including a RUF Turbo at 197mph, but I don't think even that had the stomach-through-your-back acceleration that yours does. And the outrageous grip! I am looking to see if I can get some 888s for the Ferrari, even if I have to go narrower!

Certainly a good crowd, although what happened to the guys that turned up in the cars and bikes then disappeared off again. What was that about?

It's good to have new people and cars, but it's first and foremost a pub meet where members of PH get together and have a natter about mainly car b0llx ... it is not all about the cars in the car park. If it turns into just another big car meet where most people don't know most others, and just turn up and wander around the cars in their own little group of mates, it would be a shame.

So, if you're going to come along, get yourselves onto Pistonheads.com, join in and say hello smile

ps: Cheers Ron - it was a nice treat to be able to have a few beers - and that 993 is a lovely piece of kit, especially over 5000 rpm - it just comes alive smile
Thanks for the comments Al, your making me blush fella!

Best place by far for the 888's, http://www.camskill.co.uk/products.php?plid=m12b0s...

No problem matey! Thanks again for the 911 coffee table book, it's brilliant and a great momento to accompany my first 911!

Still getting to know the 993 and discovering what feels like an endless stream of power on tap from 5,000 rpm onwards is awesome....within speed limits of course;)

Can't wait for lighter evenings, Le Mans and Megahoon now! biggrin

Afternoon guys,

Just wanted to say thanks for having us on behalf of all the new faces (cars and bikes) at Mondays meet and that I am sorry we couldn’t stay for longer, we did also feel as though we would be intruding on you guys in the pub!? frown We where taken back by the quality of the cars and of the turn out and it took us a long time just to get a good look round the cars for the first time!

Looking forwards to the lighter nights and having a beer with you guys to get to know you all, plus contributing on Pistonheads.com when ever possible! biggrin

Cheers, Rich (Black BMW E46 330D)

I was good to see a quite a few more turn up and when the Celica drove in there were tears in the eyes of Mr & Mrs Noony GTO.

Come have chat next time and I’m sure he’ll tell you the story.

Cheers,

Simon.

Thanks for responding smile You would not have been intruding at all Rich as to be honest the pub meet has only really been going since last September. A few of us have known each other for a number of years through P.Heads but just as many were newbies last September and at various points since.

Best plan of attack is stand by a nice car and shout "who's is this then?" followed by "Hi, who are you on PH then?"

Not subtle, but effective smile

New toy is fantastic…..

It’s my/our first Porsche, so I don’t know if this is just a Gen II thing or not, but I suspect this is down to evolution, must be to be this good.

I'll bring her along in April.

Cheers,

Simon.
