Enjoy the fantastic feeling Paul.

I remember picking up my Griff and on the drive home being overtaken by Mini and being too excited/scared to go after it.

Cheers,

Simon.

Evening Paul

Congratulations on the car, enjoy it....though take it steady at first till you get used to it (without sounding patronising)!

I live near Wakefield so would gladly come out for a drive. There are lots of us PH'ers around Yorkshire, have you seen details of the South / West / North Yorkshire TVRCC meets?

Best Regards

MOD.

Live in Howden & would be up for a drive etc. Loads of fabulous roads, but 2 faves are B1230 Beverley to Malton and Goole, south towards Gainsborough/M180.

Will keep an eye on this thread now.

er... not forgetting Howden to Market Weighton on a quiet day

North Cave over the tops to Walkington and Beverley is pretty good fun too

Small B roads over the wolds that go nowhere, a pint of real ale then home - heaven

Beverly to Malton does it for me too, I like very early on a Sunday morning, and sometimes go all the way

That is straight on at Malton through Pickering and over the moors towards Whitby. Usually stopping for a photo session with a few sheep, then back home to bed for 7:30

Cheers,

Simon.

And you wonder why your wife gets pissed with you? It's nothing to do with you going out in the car... it's the bl**dy sheep man!

Which route are you taking to Wighill. If the weather clears up I'll go home and get the Griff. If it's still peeing down I'll probably go straight from work.

It looks like the HULL TVR convoy will not be comming. Simon and I were looking forward to a trip over. Due to the very very very wet weather, the fact that I have just shined the beast ( on reflection that sound rude)and other lame excuses from me, we wont be able to make it.

I look forward to meeting some of the PHers soon, perhaps when we see a little sunshine.

Picking up on the Beverley to Malton road,Yes yes yes! especially the bit with a big dip (hold on to your stomach) followed by a very fast sweeping bend. I think our motorbiking chums like this road I usually see plenty of them.

Try the Circuit Beverley to Malton, on to Pickering (Cream Tea and Buns). Pickering to Scarborough. (pick up fish and Chips at Filey) down the coast to Bridligton (maybe a Donut) accross to Beverley (Pub meal).

They're made of plastic, it won't rust.

Well, I had a good run over from East Yorkshire, tiny amount of spitting rain - but roof off for the trip back

Cave to Walkington I do all the time, so I'm very familiar with it.

Any drives organised then?

Julie doesn’t know about Flossy, how could that be the problem.

Keep your eye on the Yorks forum and also "Events/Meetings".

There is the Big Northern Gathering on 24 July, though this is more a social do than a full blown run out... though Pickering to Harrogate should be a good run... then one NOT to miss (which I have to unfortunately) is Dawn Raid II, which is currently looking at 1st August. THAT, is a run out and a half. early start, empty roads, 3 hours hooning!

Doing a drive in Scotland with a load of BMW Z roadsters, through the Trossachs etc. (wife's a sweaty sock) this weekend, so can't make that one.

Saw the Dawn Raid post and that looks promising (1st August anyway), but I can't work out where it is .

Done quite a few 'dawn raids' myself, so I know how much better the roads are when you get out of bed early. Did the A686 from Penrith to Hartside in May which was just brilliant. Normally it's crawling with feds. Only problem was the low cloud at the top and the cafe was shut :-(

No, you won't figure out where it is exactly on the oprn forum, for fairly obvious reasons. You'll see a guy called "nonnynimity" on the Dawn raid posts. Email him for more details.
