I might start a thread to gauge interest in a monthly meet nearer Roundhay as there seem to be a fair few in the area, although i understand it would probably be a bit far for some of the people on here who live over Wakefield side.
I think that's a good idea Mark....mix the venues around a bit. Working on the idea of moving the meet around different locations, this one is back by popular demand(!) at The Railway in Drig'.
Anyone else coming along? (weather forecast looks ok by the way).

If I had thought ahead I would asked if we could have held this months meeting at the Batley Variety Club as I want to gather peoples thoughts on access to and layout of the parking area for the Batley Brag!
Maybe we could meet up as planned tonight and then have a quick run down to check things out?

We got to the Batley venue last night and it wasn’t riots they were worried about; they were on Gypsy watch and had to shut the car park gates and put security on both entrances!
Here is my view on the WY PH Pub Meet for what it’s worth:
I think numbers are bound to fluctuate from month to month, but there is no doubt that numbers had become virtually non-existent at the Railway and that’s why we changed things around a bit.
10 is a record for recent times, but numbers did pick up for a while when we moved to Oulton and then dropped off again. However, the meet we did at Squires was well attended and we had quite a few new faces at that particular meet / venue. Having said all of this, last night’s turnout was encouraging.
I still like the idea of mixing the venues around, as I doubt one fixed venue will never suit everyone?
I take your point on the pub location Trickie, but I think we need to decide if the PH WY Pub Meet is a summer event or an all year around event? If we meet through the winter months then we definitely need somewhere where we can get out of the cold and have a drink and a natter I would suggest? One suggestion would be to briefly discuss and agree the next venue when we meet each month and keep swapping it around? For example, I know plenty of discreet car parks in Batley where we could meet and get to know some of the locals and keep ourselves lovely and warm!
On the subject of a new topic, then my view would be to leave it as it is as we have managed to get the thread as a ‘sticky’ and at least people know where the topic is and it remains at the top of the Yorkshire Forum page!
